FACULTY HIGHLIGHT: Dr. Juan Bosco Cuadra





















Ave Maria University Latin American Campus is pleased to announce that Prof. Juan Bosco Cuadra has been invited to join Redemtoris Hominis, a select group of Nicaraguan lay leaders and opinion makers, named after John Paul II’s first encyclical published on March 4th, 1983.  This group was inaugurated by the Papal Nuncio, the Archbishop, and other ecclesiastic authorities for the purpose of having its members evangelize by studying,
 

reflecting, and doing research on, and divulging the magisterium of John Paul II in order to shed light on the various challenges confronted by Nicaraguan society and  the
Catholic Church.

Dr. Juan Bosco Cuadra has a Bachelor degree and a Masters Degree in Philosophy B. from Universidad Autónoma de Centro América in San José, Costa Rica and a Ph. D. in Philosophy from Universidad Complutence in Madrid, Spain. His 2006 dissertation focused on Personality Psychology.

Dr. Cuadra is currently the Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Theology and has been teaching Philosophy courses at Ave Maria University- Latin American Campus since 2008. Some of these courses include, Introduction to Philosophy, Metaphysics, Ancient and Medieval Philosophy, Philosophy of the Human Person, Ethics, Aesthetics, Modern and Contemporary Philosophy, and Logic and Epistemology. His three favorite courses to teach are Ethics, Aesthetics, and Metaphysics. Dr. Cuadra has published several books: Introduction to Ethics, Applied Ethics, Civic Education, among others. He is currently doing research and writing his latest book on Metaphysics.
