Mr. Munin has a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and an M.P.A. from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Eugene L. Munin is the Chief Financial Officer for Ave Maria University. Prior to joining Ave Maria in July 2011, Mr. Munin was Budget Director for the City of Chicago from 2009-2011. As Budget Director, Mr. Munin oversaw the preparation and management of the City’s $6.3 billion operating budget. He was also responsible for the preparation of the City’s $8 billion capital budget. In this role Mr. Munin worked extensively with the Mayor, the City Council, department heads and members of the Illinois General Assembly.
Mr. Munin also served as General Counsel for the Chicago Transit Authority from 2007-2009. Mr. Munin has worked in the private sector as an attorney for the Travelers Insurance Company and as a manager for KPMG International. Mr. Munin started his professional career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Illinois. He is currently enrolled in the Holy Apostles College and Seminary’s Philosophy program and is progressing toward a masters degree. He is registered as a Certified Public Accountant and is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.
