PRESIDENT H. JAMES TOWEY
AN OVERVIEW OF OUR PRESIDENT:
H. James Towey is the second president of Ave Maria University. His career has included service as a college president, senior advisor to the President of the United States, key aide to a Congressional leader, member of the cabinet of Florida’s governor, founder of a national non-profit organization, and legal counsel to Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta. His return to his home state of Florida and the assumption of his new duties as president and chief executive officer of Ave Maria University climax a remarkable professional journey.
He has received many honors, including the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal from His Holiness Pope John Paul II, the “Fifty Most Influential Christians in America” award from Church World magazine, the “Power and Influence Top Fifty” award from the Non-Profit Times magazine, and the “Grads Made Good” award from Florida State University’s Omicron Delta Kappa. He also has been awarded six honorary doctorate degrees.

“My congratulations to the Marketing Students of Ave Maria University and to their professor Miss Alicia Martinez. It has been the only University that has visited us and has presented a quality report and presentation” – said Mr. David Callejas, Vice-President of the Callejas Sequeira e Hijos, S.A. Company while addressing the audience right after the final presentation on “A Competitive Analysis on Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning and Branding of the Callejas Guava Jelly” made by twenty six students of the Introductory Class to the Marketing Field. “I am going to present these graphs and recommendations to the Board of Directors” said Mr. Callejas with a very open attitude.

CAREER SERVICES & ALUMNI RELATIONS
We are proud to announce that Alejandra Borge G. is now part of our team. She will be our part-time Career Service and Alumni Relations Director. She is one of the many accomplished graduates of Ave Maria University Latin American Campus. She graduated in 2009 with a Mayor in Business Administration, Concentration in Management and Minors in Philosophy and Theology. After this she has worked for many multinational companies such as CafĂ© Soluble S.A. and Philip Morris International. On the previous year of her graduation, during her senior year in 2008 she competed and was crowned Reina Del Carnaval and represented the country in several beauty pageants during that year, earning much multicultural experience in the process. Additionally, Mrs. Borge completed an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts on 2007at Johnson and Wales University in North Miami, FL. During which time she worked for companies such as BASF Chemical Co. in Germany and the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fl. We hope that her joining our staff will enrich the AMULAC student experience.
