Ave Maria Entrepreneurs: Abigail Orellana

Greetings Ave Maria Family,

I want to congratulate Abigail Orellana, who has successfully created a top of the line brand of Leather Handmade Bags.

We get excited and full of joy when our alumni create business and put into practice everything learned at Ave Maria.

Abigail’s case is a special one, so it happens that everything involved in the product creation has Ave Maria written all over it. Ave Maria Alumni and Students participated in the creation of this brand. Models, marketers, image developers, designers and project managers are all Ave Maria.

This is a successful company in the making. The luxurious bags are being sold inside Nicaragua and outside Nicaragua; sales include United States, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and soon Europe.

We want to extend our congratulations to Abigail and all of those involved in this project. This is an example of how opportunities are seized and how Ave Maria prepares you for when those opportunities appear.

 Sincerely,

We Celebrated with our Staff!

Yesterday,  we had a really nice celebration due to the season's holidays.

We had a great time at the basketball court area. Our staff and collaborators brought their families for an afternoon of happiness and good times. We had special activities and entertainement for everyone. The kids had a blast on the inflatable playground. Adults enjoyed food, drinks and fun games that made everyone laugh.

Ave Maria gave each of its workers a present, but on top of that, we thanked them for their hard work, their sacrifice and their efforts to make of Ave Maria what it is. They are of vital importance to our institution. They are one of the cornerstones to our Mission. Please remember to thank our Staff for the service they provide to our University.

Introduction to Psychology Students Participated in a Conference About Mental Health and the Elderly

November 27, 2012
The speaker was Dr. Milton Lopez, gerontologist.  The students appreciated learning about what it is like to grow old, and the care that the elderly need.  Some of the students have visited patients at the Asilo de Ancianos of Jinotepe, where he works, to analyze a case in depth, with other professionals and Asilo workers.

Ave Students at INCAE Master's Class

Last Tuesday, November 27, a group of our finest Ave Students had the opportunity to participate in a real Master's Class provided by INCAE. Our students visited INCAE's campus and gained knowledge on the systems and methods of teaching used by this prestigious institution. In addition to that, they were exposed to real Master's material and lectures, getting a good idea of what may await them after life on the San Marcos Campus.

Ave Maria students have the opportunity to continue their higher education studies by enrolling in INCAE after graduation. The agreements and excellent relations that exist between both institutions make it easier for our graduates to enter INCAE's Master's Programs.

This event was possible thanks to our Carrier Services department and the Business Club. If you would like more information on INCAE and other opportunities please visit or contact Nestor Alvarez at Carrier Services.
